SLA POET Private Wilfred Sheep
----------------------------------------------
S.L.A. STATEMENT REGARDING THE FINDING OF POETRY BY WILFRED SHEEP.
The SLA has recently been made aware that a Sheeppoet was amongst our ranks.
Private Wilfred Sheep - RIP - (Rest In Pastures).
Here is one of his offerings.
-------------------------------------------------
"WAR IS A LOAD OF DROPPINGS."
"Sweet it is not to die for a fantasy.
The war in Afghanistan is a load of sheep droppings
Slaughter of civilians that they always lie about.
"War is organised murder."
Harry Patch, Human, RIP.
Stop your silly
Intraspecies Splatting
In the Sheepfields
of Afghanistaaaaahn!"

"I just want to say that the SLA encourages poetry and stuff like that in the ranks.
Very much so. I knew Wilfred personally - sheep to sheep. Great sheep and member of a great outfit - the good old Berrichon Du Cher.
Wilf was a good laugh and is very sorely missed by all of us at the SLA.
For any of you who are interested his book "Droppings Against Intra-Species Destruction" will soon be availiable. All proceeds are to go towards fighting Intra-Species Destruction. I am going on a lecture tour to.....er..... the .....er...... where I will stay with a nice ewe....er....which will be partly funded with the proceeds from this book."

WILFRED SHEEP UPDATE.
News has come through that the Committee of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the SLA have decided that Wilfred Sheep is to be postsheepuously awarded Membership of the SLA "Legion of Baaahnzai" and the Purple Grass Medal for special valour; as well as the 2001-2002 Foot and Mouth Campaign Medal.
These awards were made for his military prowess. He is also one of the famous Sheeppoets of the Second Foot and Mouth Campaign of 2001-02 as stated in previous posts.
His poetry speaks eloquently of how it feels to get up in the morning, graze some grass, have farm inspectors in wellies attempt to round you and your ewe up and then - if this doesn't work - get shot at by members of the Royal Anglian Regiment with outdated 1940s Lee Enfield rifles. And all because you supposedly feel a bit queasy.
Like many other young sheep, Wilfred chose the course of joining the SLA.
He was a modest sheep and wouldn't have wanted too much made of all this.
